Africa’s very own Mauritius emerges one of the best islands in the world

Mauritius is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual island-nation located in the South-Eastern region of Africa.

Africa’s Mauritius has emerged one of the best islands in the world according to TripAdvisor‘s 2016 Travelers’ Choice awards for islands.

Mauritius emerged 7th place ahead of tourist hot spots like Phuket, Thailand and Bora Bora.

Mauritius is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual island-nation located in the South-Eastern region of Africa.

Emerging top position was Maui, Hawaii which is another hot favourite with tourists.

Speaking on the winning spots, TripAdvisor spokeswoman Julie Cassetina said,

In addition to their truly magnificent landscapes, the Travelers’ Choice Islands are home to highly rated hotels, restaurants and attractions, and are brimming with unique culture,”

TripAdvisor selected its Travelers’ Choice island award winners based on the quality and quantity of user reviews over 12 months.
